Piezometers
Monitoring of water table conditions is important for slope stability assessments and for the eventual establishment of landslide warning systems. MoSSaiC has purchased a power auger for field teams to install piezometer tubing. Water table conditions can thereby be easily observed by individual residents whose participation will greatly assist in conveying the importance of slope hydrological conditions within the community.
Field teams have already begun installing piezometers on road cut slopes and shortly this process will be extended to selected urban areas within St. Lucia.
